The cold flares (cold vent stacks / gas vent systems) designed and manufactured by S.T.I.T.I. allow the discharge of gas from a section of the plant for maintenance and emergency purposes. Under normal operating conditions, the cold flare contains no gas; only when the system depressurization is activated is the gas released through the flare (vent stack) at atmospheric pressure.
The flares are supplied complete with fire detection and extinguishing systems, using CO₂ or other dedicated solutions.
